Moving Day
Well we finally found a house we liked in Vancouver that we could afford (just). And now we get to move in today.
It is much closer for work and school than the old house, although not as close as we would like.
It seems like a nice area and very central to almost anywhere in the Greater Vancouver Area.
Shopping is close by as Metrotown is only five minutes drive away.
Still lots to do with unpacking and trying to find space for all the accumulated things we brought with us. But once we've been in it for a while it will all work out fine.

Andrea's first year at school
Andrea has just completed her kindergarten year at school and will be moving into grade 1 in September.
She has learned a lot this year and enjoys her school, and she has made many friends from her class.
Her reading and writing have improved tremendously this year and no doubt will continue to improve as she moves up through the school system.
For most of this first year I have had the honour of being allowed to enter the classroom occasionally to photograph the girls at work. I had a great time on this project. I think the other parents in class enjoyed the images as much as I did, as it is not often parent get to see their child in the classroom setting to this extent.
A few samples of the images I captured from the school project are shown below.

House sold, now what?
We sold our house last week in Delta, as we are looking to move to Vancouver. It went fairly quickly, less than two weeks.
Now we have the job of finding another house we can afford in Vancouver. We did see a house that looked great and made a full price offer. Unfortunately many other people also saw it and offered much more. It sold for $50,000.00 over asking price.
Welcome to the Vancouver real estate market. Luckily we have a couple of months before we have to move, so we should be able to find something by then.
